EXCLUSIVE: The Exchange sells key markets on Vera Farmiga’s debut Higher Ground, which SPC had already picked up for US last year.

Brian O’Shea’s The Exchange has inked a multi-territory deal at the EFM with Sony Pictures for Vera Farmiga’s directorial debut Higher Ground, which premiered at Sundance last year and Sony Pictures Classics had already bought for US, Australia and New Zealand.

The deal includes all rights for France, UK, Germany, Benelux, Scandinavia, Italy, Portugal, Spain, South Africa, India, Eastern Europe, Latin America and Asia.

Inspired by screenwriter Carolyn S. Briggs’ memoir This Dark World, the drama depicts a spiritual community thrown off-kilter when one of their own begins to question her faith.

O’Shea’s fledgling sales and finance outfit has been helping to sell Foresight’s hot sellers 2 Guns and Rule # 1 at the EFM and is also shopping Sebastian Silva thriller Magic Magic, starring Juno Temple, Michael Cera, Catalina Sandino Moreno and Emily Browning.
