Sony Pictures Releasing International will handle distribution in Russia for Fedor Bondarchuk’s [pictured] epic love story and the first Russian-made feature to be released in IMAX.

The first teaser trailer of Stalingrad will screen at CinemaCon in Las Vegas on Wednesday [Apr 17] during Sony’s annual presentation.

Alexander Rodnyansky and Sergey Melkumov produced for Non-Stop Production and Dmitry Rudovsky for Art Pictures. 

Iliya Tilkin and Sergey Snezhkin wrote the screenplay about a romance between a Russian civilian and a solider in 1942 that takes place against he backdrop of the brutal WWII Battle Of Stalingrad.

Sony Pictures president of worldwide distribution Rory Bruer made the announcement. The release date will be announced shortly.
