Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions (SPWA) has acquired all US and Canada rights, along with Latin America, Scandinavia, South Africa, Eastern Europe, to Sebastian Silva’s untitled thriller.

Michael Cera, Juno Temple, Emily Browning and Catalina Sandino Moreno star in a psychological thriller about a young American woman (Temple) travelling with her friends in Chile. She starts to mentally unravel.

Silva writes and will also direct (the film starts shooting in coming months). His credits include Sundance winner The Maid.

The deal was negotiated by SPWA’s Executive Vice President of Business Affairs, Michael Helfand, and Lejo Pet, Acquisitions Director, along with The Exchange’s Brian O’Shea and Laura Ivey, as well as UTA’s Rich Klubeck, Bec Smith and Jacqui Schock.

The Exchange is selling all international territories of the film along with Marina Fuentes of 6 Sales.

Producers are Frida Torresblanco of Braven Films, which is also fully financing the film, Christine Vachon of Killer Films,  and Mike White and David Bernad of Rip Cord Productions.
