Sony Pictures Classics confirmed today [14] it has acquired North American rights to Roman Polanski’s comedy starring Jodie Foster, Kate Winslet, Christoph Waltz and John C Reilly.

The distributor plans a year-end release on the tale of two sets of parents who come together to discuss an incident involving their children and end up bickering themselves.

Polanski adapted the screenplay with Yasmina Reza from the playwright’s 2009 Tony Award winning play God Of Carnage. Said Ben Said produced and brokered the deal alongside ICM’s Jeff Berg with SPC.

“In today’s world of moviemaking, Roman Polanski, his screenwriting partner Yasmina Reza, his cast, his crew, and his producer Said Ben Said represent the best of the best,” SPC said in a statement.

We are so fortunate and pleased to bring Carnage, which promises to be an experience of intense emotion and hilarity, to the American audiences.”

Said Ben Said and SPC last worked together on the film I’ve Loved You So Long.
