EXCLUSIVE: Sony Pictures Classics snaps up US rights to Ralph Fiennes’ Charles Dickens drama from WestEnd.

Sony Pictures Classics has snapped up North American, Latin American and South African rights to Ralph Fiennes’ Charles Dickens drama The Invisible Woman in a “solid seven figure deal” with WestEnd Films.

WestEnd’s Eve Shoukroun and CAA did the deal with Sony Pictures Classics. Lionsgate will distribute in the UK, E1 in Australia.

Fiennes stars in his sophomore directorial outing opposite Felicitiy Jones in the story of Dickens’ secret love affair with a young actress.

The romantic-drama, currently in post-production, was produced by Gabrielle Tana of Magnolia Mae Films, Stewart Mackinnon and Christian Baute of Headline Pictures, with the participation of BBC Films, the BFI, Taeoo Productions and Lonely Dragon.
