The Santa Monica-based company will introduce the Tribeca coming-of-age comedy written by and starring Glee’s Chris Colfer to buyers on the Croisette. Lightning negotiated the deal with ICM and Traction Media.

The roster includes Warren P Sonoda’s comedy Servitude which Alliance released in Canada earlier this year. Both this film and Struck By Lightning (pictured) will receive their market premieres in Cannes.

Thriller One Last Look from feature directorial debutant Philip Roberts follows two young women on an ill-fated trip through Africa and Lightning holds worldwide rights outside that continent with Richard Guardian serving as consultant.

Faith film Heaven’s Door is written and directed by Craig Clyde and tells of a girl who helps her small town when she finds a way into Heaven.

Noir thriller Black South-Easter is currently shooting in Cape Town, South Africa, and tells of a police officer who confronts his former partner, now a crime lord.

Lightning will also show first footage from comedy The Hot Flashes starring Brooke Shields, Daryl Hannah and Wanda Sykes and will screen Australian sci-fi 25th Reich. The team will also present thriller Five Thirteen with Tom Sizemore, Taryn Manning, Danny Trejo and James Russo.

“We are thrilled to present this eclectic slate of new titles featuring films from across the globe to our buyers at Cannes and we are incredibly excited that both Struck By Lightning and Servitude will be making their market premieres next month,” Lightning Entertainment president Robert Beaumont said.

“We always look to find films with a unique twist that we can bring to the marketplace, and we feel that these films are right on target.”
