The Sundance breakout will open in North American theatres through Fox Searchlight on October 7.
Nate Parker’s slave revolt drama rocked Park City last month when Searchlight outbid Netflix to secure worldwide rights for $17.5m.
Parker stars in The Birth Of A Nation as Nat Turner, who led a bloody, early 19th century Virginia insurrection against landowners.
The cast includes Armie Hammer, Penelope Ann Miller, Jackie Earle Haley, and Aja Naomi King.
The multi-hyphenate also produced the film with Kevin Turen, Jason Michael Berman, Aaron L. Gilbert, and Preston L. Holmes.
