Philippe Bober’s production and sales outfit The Coproduction Office has announced a raft of new sales of Meteora, which screened in competition in Berlin last week.

X-Verleih has taken the film for Germany and Austria. Aurora Films has come in for Poland. Strada Films has taken Greece. Maywin has picked up rights for Russia and the Baltics. JMD Entertainment will handle the South Korean release. Mostra International do Cinema will show the film in Brazil.

These deals, clinched at the EFM, follow on from the sales already closed with Benelux (Cinemien), Switzerland (Frenetic) and Czech Republic (Film Europa).

Meteora, directed by Spiros Stathoulopoulos, is the story of a young Orthodox monk in 12th Century Greece who has an affair with a  nun. It stars (and is coproduced by) Theo Alexander, who played Talbot in TV series True Blood.
