The studio has scheduled the third instalment of its $200m-plus global horror franchise.

The Purge 3 will open on July 1 2016 and chronicles the next 12 hours of anarchy sanctioned annually by the New Founders Of America.

  • Separately, the studio has signed a two-year first-look production agreement with Elizabeth Banks and Max Handelman’s Brownstone Productions. The company produced Pitch Perfect and its upcoming sequel Pitch Perfect 2, which Banks directed, set for release on May 15.
