Visit to sell Critics Week entry The Myth Of The American Sleepover

New York-based Visit Films has acquired international rights to Cannes Critics Week selection The Myth Of The American Sleepover.

The film premiered at the SXSW film festival where it won the Jury Award and was written and directed by David Robert Mitchell.

Set in the hinterland of Metro-Detroit, the story follows four young people as they search for love and adventure on the last night of summer. Adele Romanski produced.

Visit Films’ Ryan Kampe and Sylvain Tron will also give market premieres for new acquisitions The Freebie, For Once In My Life, Cold Weather and Bear Nation.

The Freebiepremiered at Sundance and features Dax Shepard and Katie Aselton as a married couple who agree that they are each allowed to have a one-night stand as long as they don’t ask each other questions the next morning.

For Once In My Lifehas won audience awards at SXSW, Sarasota and the Nashville Film Festival and tells the story of the Spirit Of Goodwill Band as they prepare for the concert of a lifetime.

 

Bear Nationtakes a humorous and insightful look into the gay sub-culture of bears, and Cold Weather tells the story of a man and his sister who investigate the disappearance of his ex-girlfriend.

Visit Films will continue sales on a number of other titles recently introduced into the marketplace such as Harmony Korine’s Trash Humpers, Eyad Zahra’s The Taqwacores, Sophie Deraspe’s Vital Signs and Valerie Donzelli’s The Queen Of Hearts
