eOne announces part of UK film team; Alliance’s Robert Walak, eOne’s Jon Bourdillon leave the company to pursue other ventures.

eOne has announced a portion of the structure of its UK film division, with the following appointments:

  • Charlotte Thorp, head of TV sales and business development
  • Ken McMahon, head of home entertainment
  • Nick Smith, head of digital
  • Paul Lofting, head of sales
  • Rebecca Mortimer, head of marketing
  • Theresa Roberts, head of publicity

eOne also announced that Robert Walak and Jon Bourdillon are leaving the company to pursue other ventures.

Walak joined Momentum in 2003, rising to svp of worldwide acquisitions and productions in 2007.

Among his acclaimed acquisitions were The Twilight Saga for Spain, and The King’s Speech and The Woman in Black for the UK. He has also played a key executive producer role on a number of UK films including the upcoming How I Live Now.

For 15 years, Jon Bourdillon headed up home entertainment in the UK for eOne and previously, Contender Entertainment. A director of the company from its beginnings, he managed the home entertainment releases of The Twilight Saga and saw 10 of his team’s releases reach the top of the DVD charts.

Regarding whether Walak would be with the team in Berlin the company said “the timing of Robert’s departure is still TBC but he will remain with the business for a short transition period”.

Regarding the position of Xavier Marchand, Alliance Films’ president of worldwide distribution and managing director of UK distributor Momentum Pictures, eOne said it had “no further updates”.
