Warcraft to open December 2015

British filmmaker Duncan Jones (pictured) directs Warcraft, based on Blizzard Entertainment’s massively multiplayer online role-playing game World Of Warcraft.

Charles Leavitt and Jones wrote the screenplay and Charles Roven and Alex Gartner produce for Atlas Entertainment with Thomas Tull and Jon Jashni for Legendary. 

Stuart Fenegan, Jillian Share and Brent O’Connor will serve as executive producers. Blizzard’s Chris Metzen will co-produce.

• The Weinstein Company will release the benefit concert documentary 12-12-12 in New York and Los Angeles theaters on November 1. The documentary takes a look behind the scenes at the Madison Square Garden last December that featured the likes of Bruce Springsteen, Alicia Keys, Paul McCartney, Dave Grohl, Eddie Vedder and Kanye West. The event raised more than $50m in aid of the Robin Hood Hurricane Sandy Relief Fund. All box office profits from the theatrical run will go to the Fund.
• Morgan Freeman will narrate the upcoming IMAX and Warner Bros 3D documentary adventure Island Of Lemurs: Madagascar. The film will be released in select IMAX and IMAX 3D theatres starting April 4, 2014.
