Gráinne Humphreys role extended; Jackie Ryan named general manager.

Gráinne Humphreys has extended her role as director of the Jameson Dublin International Film Festival for a further three years and Jackie Ryan has been appointed general manager for a three-year term.

Arthur Lappin, chair of the festival’s board, said of Humphreys: “She has made an indelible mark on the fortune and esteem of the festival since 2006.  Following her sterling work as interim general manager for the 2013 festival we are fortunate indeed to see Jackie appointed as general manager.

“These appointments represent a strength of continuity in the senior management of JDIFF and provide the festival with robust leadership into the future.”

Speaking of the festival’s future, Humphreys said: “It is a challenging yet hugely fulfilling responsibility to bring the best of contemporary cinema to the best audiences in the world and, alongside our wonderful new general manager and our festival team, we are working to expand our current activities and develop and deepen our relationships with filmmakers both Irish and international.”

The festival includes more than 130 films over 11 days in February in cinemas and other venues in Dublin.  Year-round the festival collaborates on film projects with partners, distributors and venues.
