Entertainment One (eOne) has bolstered its executive team with the hire of two acquisition managers, Jessica Watson and Justina Hemeprek.

Watson is a former acquisitions specialist at Canadian kids broadcaster Teletoon, where she spent five years acquiring series and movies for both kid and adult audiences for five specialty channels. She previously worked for organizations such as Red Varden Studios and Base Camp Films.

Based in Toronto, she will be responsible for acquiring television product for distribution to all media outlets around the world for eOne.

Hemeprek previously worked for ITV Studios Global Entertainment where she served as the acquisitions manager, acquiring titles such as Come Dine With Me, Four Weddings, The Audience River Monsters, and Wild Things With Dominic Monaghan.

Earlier in her career, Hemeprek worked at All3Media International across all genres as well RDF Rights, which acquired Undercover Boss, Wife Swap, Rude Tube and My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding.

In Hemperek’s new role at eOne, she will acquire all factual programming from the UK and Europe from the London office.

“Justina and Jessica will play an integral role in the ramp up on sourcing new content and the redefining of our offerings to clients worldwide. They will focus on quality not quantity and will be actively looking for new brands for us to embrace and build on a global level,” said Prentiss Fraser, senior vice president of worldwide sales and acquisitions.

The new hires follow eOne’s promotion of Laura Clunie to vice president of creative affairs last week, relocating from London to the company’s Toronto headquarters this March. Clunie will oversee the acquisition and development of eOne Family content.

eOne Television International has successfully sold eOne’s original and third-party productions to over 500 broadcasters in 150 countries, including the major US networks and international pay TV channels.
