eOne launches Séville International

Séville International will build on the company’s success with arthouse films from Québec and new films from around the world.

Poirier and her team will target films along the lines of eOne sales titles such as Incendies, Animal Kingdom, Beasts Of The Southern Wild and Xavier Dolan’s upcoming Mommy.

Poirier will report to president of eOne Films International Harold van Lier and will lead the new division from eOne’s Québec-based Les Films Séville offices.

She will work closely with Les Films Séville president Patrick Roy and his team, eOne Films Canada’s Bryan Gliserman and Mark Slone and their teams, as well as eOne teams on the ground in Spain, the UK, Benelux and Australia/New Zealand.

The development follows comments by Lier earlier this year that eOne Films International was shifting focus to commercial, broadly appealing English-language titles for direct distribution and international sales.

Poirier joined the company in 2008 when eOne acquired Les Films Séville, where she had served as vice-president of international sales since coming on board to launch the division in 2002. 

At eOne she was responsible for handling Québec Films and selling world rights to the likes of Decline Of The American Empire, Sleeping Beauty, recent Canadian foreign-language Oscar submission Gabrielle and Starbuck.

Prior to joining the company, Poirier held the role of senior sales executive at Cinar Corporation and district sales manager, Eastern Canada Division, for Buena Vista Home Entertainment Canada.

Toronto-based international sales executive Natalie Kampelmacher has been promoted to director of sales and reports to Poirier.
