Juan Torres joins Latido’s international sales team.

Spanish outfit Latido Films has picked up international sales rights to multi award-winning director Ventura Pons’ new film A Thousand Fools (Mil Cretins), which will make its market premiere at AFM.

Based on the popular short stories by Quim Monzo and currently in post production, Pons’ drama tells 15 different stories, some contemporary, others historical, including that of Robin Hood, covering love, old age and human stupidity. The cast includes Roger Princep (The Orphanage), Clara Segura (Julia’s Eyes) and Peter Vives Newey (Savage Grace).

Latido has previously represented several of Pons’ films, including Strangers, also starring Princep, Barcelona: A Map, starring Maria Botto, and Life On The Edge, starring Oscar Jaenada.

Latido Films has also appointed Juan Torres as a new member of its international sales team, which is headed by Miren Zamora since Massimo Saidel left his post as international sales partner in February this year.

Torres previously worked in acquisitions at Barcelona based Creative Films, also as a buyer at Eurocine Films and in sales at Gemini Films in Paris, which was run by renowned Portuguese producer Paulo Branco.
