The nominees for the Cartoon d’Or 2010 will include Joseph Pierce’s A Family Portrait (UK);Krokodill by Jaspar Jancis (Estonia); Logorama by François Alaux, Hervé de Crécy & Ludovic Houplain (France); Sinna Mann by Anita Killi (Norway); and The Tale of Little Puppetboy by Johannes Nyholm (Sweden).

The award, which comes with Euros 10,000, is a pan-European prize for animated short films. This year’s jury includes directors Joanna Quinn and Geza M Toth and producer Valérie Schermann.

The winner will be announced in Sopron, Hungary on Sept 17, 2010, as part of the Magyar Cartoon Forum (Sept 14-17).

Brussels-based non-profit Cartoon is also expanding the next Cartoon Connection to Ottawa, Canada from Oct 18-21. This follows editions in South Korea and Argentina. The event will be held just before the Ottawa International Animation Festival and the Television Animation Conference.
