EEAP TV sales manager Christine Daoudova will run the Prague office.

Eastern European Acquisition Pool (EEAP) has opened an office in Prague to service new and existing clients on the Czech and Slovak markets and further bolster its presence in Eastern Europe.

“With a permanent presence in the market, we expect to further develop and optimize the distribution of EEAP licenses in the Czech Republic and Slovakia,” said EEAP managing director Alexander van Dülmen.

EEAP TV sales manager Christine Daoudova, who will run the Prague office, said the Prague was a logical next step for EEAP after establishing its presence in Moscow, Warsaw and Budapest.

EEAP already has deals with Palace Pictures and all broadcasters in the two countries. “Being present on the market and in daily contact with the clients is necessary for us,” Daoudova said.

Daoudova also aims to build EEAP’s VOD business in the territory. “Existing digital media needs content, and so do the new stations that will be coming,” she said.

Daoudova said EEAP was pursuing a two-pronged approach to VOD in the Czech Republic and Slovakia: The company will continue to sell rights to the few existing VOD platforms in the territory while simultaneously pursuing opportunities to develop a local version of its Filmklik VOD service, already operational in Hungary.

EEAP Eastern European Acquisition Pool GmbH is one of the leading film licensing companies for Central and Eastern Europe, including the CIS. Its titles include such independent titles as BronsonMichael ClaytonThe Reader and Elite Squad. Currently EEAP is a 100% subsidiary of A Company Licensing & Consulting AG, which has subsidiaries in Germany, Hungary and Russia.
