Cheerful Weather For The Wedding (UK), Deviation (UK) and Rusty Knight (Ger) are among the new film listings on Screenbase.

A girl who realises she might have made a mistake on the morning of her wedding day, is at the centre of Donald Rice’s comedy, Cheerful Weather For The Wedding.Based on the 1930’s book by Julia Strachey, Rice co-wrote the screenplay with Mary Henely Magill. The film is currently shooting in Wiltshire, with Teun Hilte producing for Yellow Knife. Felicity Jones, Luke Treadaway, Mackenzie Crook and Elizabeth McGovern are among the cast.

Shooting is under way in London on J.K. Amalou’s Deviation about an escaped convict who kidnaps a young nurse in a desperate bid to evade the authorities and flee the country. Amalou also wrote the screenplay and co-produces the thriller with Lara Greenway and Mike Riley for Silver Leaf Pictures. Danny Dyer and Anna Walton are heading up the cast.

The directorial debut by French actress Melanie Laurent started shooting earlier this week in Lyon. Les Adoptés follows a young single mother who raises her son together with her mother Millie and her adopted sister Marine from whom she is inseparable. But her life changes dramatically when Marine falls into a coma. Laurent co-wrote the screenplay with Morgan Perez, and she will also star alongside Denis Menochet, Clémentine Célarié, Marie Denarnaud and Florence Foresti. StudioCanal, Rhône-Alpes Cinéma, Move Movie and TF1 jointly co-produce, with StudioCanal selling the film internationally and releasing it in France on November 23, 2011.

German public broadcaster ZDF, Caligari Film and Universum Film have joined forces for animated feature Rusty Knight. Thomas Bodenstein is directing the family tale about a knight who boasts of his bravery, but has no heroic actions to show for it until his beloved damsel Bo is kidnapped by an evil knight. Animated in stereoscopic 3D, the project has received financial backing from MFG Baden-Württemberg, FilmFernsehFonds Bayern (fff-bayern), Filmstiftung NRW (Nordrhein-Westfalen), the German Federal Film Board (FFA) and the German Federal Film Fund (DFFF). Universum Film expects to release in autumn 2012.
