Marc-Daniel Dichant has joined producer-distributor Falcom Media to oversee an expansion of its production output.

A graduate of German Film & Television Academy (dffb), Dichant has been working until now at the Berlin/Halle-based production house Schmidtz Katze Filmkollektiv with responsibility for script development and a particular focus on international co-productions.

His most recent projects were Lisa Ohlin’s Simon And The Oaks and Agnieszka Holland’s Oscar-nominated In Darkness.

At Falcom Media, Dichant will be in charge of future in-house productions as well as co-productions with national or international partners.

Falcom Media’s previous productions included Swiss-born Alain Gsponer’s 2009 romantic comedy My Words, My Lies – My Love (Lila Lila), starring Daniel Brühl and Hannah Herzsprung, and Austrian director Harald Sicheritz’s 2010 comedy 3faltig with Christian Tramitz and Matthias Schweighöfer.

The company’s main focus in its future expanded production activities will be on comedies and family entertainment, but Falcom will also be producing literary adaptations and entertaining auteur films with strong ensemble casts made by successful as well as promising new directors.

Falcom Media’s current distribution lineup includes David Cronenberg’s next film Cosmopolis, 21 & Over, the next comedy from the Hangover team Jon Lucas and Scott Moore, the action thriller Codename Geronimo – Killing Bin Laden, Stephan Schesch’s animated feature Moon Man (Der Mondmann), adapted from Tomi Ungerer’s children’s classic, and Alex Schmidt’s mystery thriller Du hast es versprochen (previously known as Dunkel) starring Mina Tander, Laura de Boer, Max Riemelt, Katharina Thalbach and Clemens Schick.
