UK charity Film Education has been shortlisted for two Bett Awards for its Thinking Film teaching resources.

Thinking Film is a finalist for the Primary Digital Content Award and the Secondary Digital Content Award.

Commissioned by the Film Distributors’ Association (FDA) and created by Film Education, Thinking Film’s teaching tools include DVDs of film extracts, lesson plans and worksheets geared toward history, English, modern foreign languages, primary literacy and film studies.

The resources cover an array of classic and modern cinema such as To Kill A Mockingbird, Mary Poppins, Persepolis, Amelie and Wall-E.

Director of Film Education Ian Wall said: “Thinking Film is a truly innovative resource that seeks to extend film further into the curriculum combining a coherent programme of training and resources for teachers with study materials for young people.”

The 2013 Bett Awards will be held in London on Jan 30.
