Astral Media’s Harold Greenberg Fund has announced the latest round of funding for 24 projects in its Script Development Program for Canadian feature scripts.

The selections were chosen from 99 applications. Winners include an adaptation of cyberpunk classic novel Neuromancer, by Vincenzo Natali; and Kari Skogland’s Prisoner of Tehran, a story of faith and survival based on Marina Nemat’s autobiographical novel. Also, the fund is backing a new project by Thom Fitzgerald.

“In addition to compelling stories, we look for projects with marketability,” said John Galway, President, English-Language Program, Astral Media The Harold Greenberg Fund.  “This is a part of our ongoing efforts to increase the recognition Canadian Filmmakers in the international marketplace and to make screenwriting a viable career option in Canada.”
