The Wallonia Brussels Film Selection Commission has backed 45 new projects following its latest session.

In total, funding amounts to $4.5m (€3.4m) with 17 feature films, eight short films, 17 documentaries and three television productions set to receive script, development or production support.

Among the projects set to receive support are:

  • Lost in Paris from Dominique Abel and Fiona Gordon [pictured];
  • Longues Peines from Vincent Lannoo adapted from a novel by Jean Teulé;
  • Liège Bastogne Liège from Jan Bucquoy;
  • Regarde La Vague, which will see Belgian novelist François Emmanuel work with Pierre Penneman to rework his novel of the same name into a film.

Each year, the Commission provides around $13.8m (€10.3m) of funding to projects in the Wallonia-Brussels Federation. The first 2013 session is set to take place sometime between Feb 15-March 15.
