Fantasy sci-fi to be directed by Lech Majewski.

Fortissimo Films has acquired international sales rights to sc-fi Valley Of The Gods, from director Lech Majewski (The Mill & The Cross).

The film, set to commence principal photography in Q1 2016, will star Josh Hartnett (Black Hawk Down), currently starring in Showtime series Penny Dreadful.

Additional cast is set to be announced at the upcoming AFM (Nov 4-11).

The film intertwines an ancient Najavo legend with the narratives of John Ecas (Hartnett), a writer with an unbridled imagination; Wes Tauros, the richest man on earth; and Grey Horse, a feisty young Indian.

John, also the films narrator, possesses the ability to alter reality. The film follows the three narratives as the characters attempt to escape a drama that is about to unfold when supernatural visions clash with reality.

Majewski also wrote the film’s screenplay.

The deal was finalized by Fortissimo SVP of acquisitions Berenice Fugard and Royal Road Entertainment’s Filip Jan Rymsza.

Producers are Royal Road Entertainment’s Filip Jan Rymsza and Carla Rosen-Vacher, Lech Majewski on behalf of Angelus Silesius and Natalia Safran for The Safran Company (The Conjuring, Annabelle).

Sales for the feature begin in Toronto and continue into the AFM.
