Rio and Ile De France Film Commissions renew accord

The films commissions of the Ile de France and Rio have renewed their two-year partnership for a second term.

“We share a common vision with Rio on the role the state and region should play in supporting the cinema and audiovisual industries,” said Ile de France Commission chief Olivier-Rene Veillon.

The aim of the accord is to foster co-productions; share information on developments in the respective audiovisual industries, and help productions access services in either area.

Through the partnership five French producers were invited to present their projects during the Festival de Rio last October.

Steve Solot, head of the Rio Film Commission, said a number of Brazilian productions were in the process of mulling Ile de France shoots, including Denise Saraceni’s biopic of celebrated Brazilian musician Pixinguinha, being produced by Carlos Moletta at Ypearts Audiovisual Ltd.
