Gravitas Ventures has made changes to its team in the run-up to Sundance led by the hiring of Griffin Gmelich from hulu as svp of sales and business development.

Gmelich will oversee sales strategy for the slate of new releases and library titles encompassing all platforms as well as television.

He will travel to Park City with Gravitas founder CEO Nolan Gallagher, director of acquisitions Mia Bruno and vice-president of marketing Julie Candelaria.

Prior to hulu, where he led film acquisitions, Gmelich was head of domestic sales for eOne, vice-president of sales for Universal-Vivendi and served as a senior executive in sales and communications at Warner Home Video.

As svp of business affairs Brendan Gallagher will increase his responsibilities with international business development. He will continue to serve as legal point person on Gravitas’ film and platform licensing and on growing the company’s library of over 2,500 films.

In her expanded role as director of acquisitions, Bruno will primarily be responsible for acquiring 20 films a year for theatrical release.
