The executive has been named CEO of IMAX Entertainment and senior evp of IMAX Corp.

Foster most recently served as chairman and president of IMAX Entertainment and will continue to report directly to IMAX CEO Richard Gelfond.

“For more than 12 years, Greg has played a crucial and strategic role at IMAX Corp, including increasing our access to top-level movies being produced in North America as well as around the globe,” said Gelfond.

“As we look to expand both our global footprint and film slate, Greg’s relationships with filmmakers, studios and exhibitors, as well as his understanding of quality, have been and will continue to be invaluable to IMAX.”

Foster served 15 years at MGM/UA in various senior management posts such as evp of production and svp of motion picture marketing and research.
