Swedish producer Gunnar Carlsson - former head of drama at Swedish pubcaster SVT – has been signed as film and drama chief at Anagram Produktion, the Lund-based production company instigated in 2003 by Swedish actor-comedians, writers, directors and producers Anders Jansson and Johan Wester.
A co-founder and director of Sweden’s Göteborg International Film Festival, Carlsson was head of SVT’s film, drama and acquisitions department for 14 years. Since 2008 he has focussed on feature films, and is credited for 84 titles as producer, co-producer or executive producer.
Recent Anagram production Eat Sleep Die, the feature debut of director Gabriela Pichler, has been nominated for five Guldbaggar – Sweden’s national film prizes – which will be presented on Jan 21. Considered for both Best Film and Director, Eat Sleep Die recently received the Swedish critics’ Greta Prize and previously picked up awards in Venice and the AFI Fest.
Swedish director Måns Månsson’s Roland Hassel, which Scanbox Entertainment released domestically on Nov 23, 2012, has been selected for the International Film Festival Rotterdam between Jan 23-Feb 3. 25 years after he was last on screen Hassel returns as a retired PI, still played by Lars-Erik Berenett, to investigate the 1986 unsolved murder of Swedish prime minister Olof Palme.
At the upcoming Göteborg International Film Festival (between Jan 25-Feb 4), Anagram will launch five new films, including William Olsson’s second feature, Förtroligheten, a drama from a wealthy district of Göteborg, and Wiktor Ericsson’s full-length documentary The Samos – A Life in Dirty Movies, about a porn filmmaker’s last attempt to do an erotic movie.
