India's 'The New Classmate' sold to France, Germany, Austria

Berlin-based sales agent Films Boutique has sold Ashywiny Iyer Tiwari’s The New Classmate to KMBO Films for France, Tiberius for Germany and Austria and AV Jet for Taiwan.

The Hindi-language drama, which was selected for Work-in-Progress Lab at Film Bazaar 2014, recently screened at the BFI London Film Festival and China’s Silk Road International Film Festival. 

Produced by Jar Pictures, the film tells the story of a domestic helper who goes back to school to convince her daughter to continue her education. Films Boutique is also reporting interest from the UK, Greece and Japan.
