President of the entertainment group Dawn Ostroff has brought on Jeremy Steckler as evp of motion pictures and Michael Klein as evp of alternative programming.

Both will report to Ostroff and the appointments are effective this month as the New York and LA-based division develops content for film, TV and digital.

Steckler will acquire and develop film properties and will be based in Los Angeles. He most recently served as evp of production at Imagine Entertainment and prior to that was svp of production at Fox Searchlight where among other projects he worked on Black Swan and Juno.

Klein joins Condé Nast from the Sundance Channel, where he was svp for programming and development.

“I am delighted to welcome these talented executives on board as we build a team that is shaping the new ways in which Condé Nast creates and distributes its sought-after content,” Ostroff said. “Jeremy’s and Michael’s strengths, combined with the significant impact of our brands, present a huge opportunity for us to grow our business across traditional, digital and new platforms.”

Earlier this year Ostroff hired former Disney global business development executive Jeffrey Thompson as vp of business development.

In the US Condé Nast publishes 18 consumer magazines, four business-to-business publications, 27 websites and more than 50 apps for mobile and tablet devices.
