The global 3D specialist announced on Thursday [14] the appointment of Minard Hamilton to evp of mobile and consumer.

Hamilton’s responsibilities will include overseeing the expansion of RealD’s visual technologies to consumer electronics applications.

Hamilton was formerly the CEO of Six Degree Games and prior to that served as evp of sales and marketing at JAMDAT Games where he developed mobile game licensing revenue streams. The company sold for $684m to Electronic Arts in 2005.

“Minard has a proven track record for creating new revenue streams through technology licensing and innovative partnerships,” said RealD chairman and CEO Michael V Lewis.

“I am confident that he has the right combination of passion, industry experience and sales leadership to guide RealD’s future growth opportunities beyond our core cinema business.”
