Former founding president of Miramax International joins Legend 3D.

Ian Jessel has been appointed president of US visual effects specialist Legend 3D.

The former founding president of Miramax International and vice president of CBS Films will focus on nurturing studio relationships and forging strategic partnerships in Asia and Europe.

Jessel takes over the role from Legend 3D’s founder Dr. Barry Sandrew, who will now focus on his responsibilities as chief creative officer and chief technology officer.

Legend has worked across the 3D conversion of The Smurfs, Transformers: Dark of the Moon, Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, the Shrek franchise and Alice in Wonderland.

The company recently relocated to Hollywood Center Studios, LA. Also based in Hollywood and reporting to Jessel are Barry Nulman, senior vp, business development, and Jenny Powers, senior marketing associate.
