Phillips [pictured] recently served as a production consultant at Lionsgate and was a co-producer on The Hunger Games and What To Expect When You’re Expecting.

He will report to Focus Features president Andrew Karpen, who described the new hire as “a talented and well-respected executive with an impressive production and management background.”

Phillips is based in Focus’ West Coast offices where he will oversee physical production and post-production on all in-house film productions and outside acquisitions.

He previously worked in production at Paramount, Buena Vista, Phoenix Pictures and Jim Henson Pictures. His executive producer credits include Shutter Island and Zodiac.
