A statement issued by the company said Santor was leaving to pursue “opportunities and new challenges” after serving 20 years.

For the past month the executive has worked with company chairman Arnon Milchan and president and CEO Brad Weston to find his successor Jonathan Fischer, the former Groundswell Productions president whose appointment as CFO is effective immediately reporting to Weston.

Santor will stay on as a consultant for a transitional period through the summer. Longtime deputy CFO Robert Corzo remains in an increased capacity.

Santor played an influential role at the company, having recently secured a credit line renewal, and said he had enjoyed “such a tremendous ride with Arnon.”

“Arnon challenged me constantly from the beginning, made me a better, more knowledgeable executive in the film industry and in business overall,” Santor said. “Together we experienced what many have been trying to replicate for years, both directly in the film business and also with deals like Puma and Chrysler. I can’t thank him enough for giving me the opportunity I’ve had to play in this corner of his sandbox, and I look forward to cheering on Arnon, Brad and New Regency in the future as they focus on the creative filmmaking side of the business in order to make Regency the great place and platform, it can be.”

“It is with a heavy heart that I reluctantly accept Louis’ resignation,” Milchan said. “He is a homegrown talent, a devoted colleague, a trusted financial advisor, and above all, a friend. He has my support and help with all of his future endeavours.”

“After 19 great years at New Regency, Louis has decided to segue to the next big thing,” Weston said. “Though it’s difficult to see him go, he is leaving us in a wonderful position, having provided the financial leadership that has forged solid investor relationships, established the confidence of the financial community and solidified our line of credit.

“We are incredibly grateful for the years of service Louis has given New Regency and thrilled he will stay on for some time as Jonathan gets started. We’re so pleased to welcome Jonathan. He brings with him a broad base of film financing experience as well as strategic planning expertise and a clear understanding of our business and our goals. We are looking forward to a very prosperous future together.”

“I couldn’t be happier to be joining Brad and the team at New Regency, especially now as they are on the verge of such an exciting new chapter,” Fischer said.
