EXCLUSIVE: Blind Spot Pictures, the Finnish outfit behind cult hit Iron Sky, has revealed further details of what is likely to be its first US project, Jeremiah Harm.
Timo Vuorensola is set to direct the film, which he bills as “a science-fiction, action western”.
It is scripted by Dalan Musson. Arnold Rifkin’s Cheyenne is the US partner. Vuorensola, who is represented by William Morris, says he hopes to shoot later this year.
Troll, the Finnish special effects house that worked on Iron Sky, will be involved.
“From the beginning, we have been trying to think internationally. Iron Sky was our first English-language picture,” said Blind Spot boss Tero Kaukomaa. “It is a natural step to go further.”
Vuorensola is also still currently developing I Killed Adolf Hitler, which is currently being packaged and financed by Blind Spot.
At the EFM, Blind Spot boss Tero Kaukomaa is handling sales on 8-Ball, the new crime drama by Aku Louhimes. Nordisk is handling Scandinavia but the rest of the world is available.
On Sunday [Feb 10], the filmmakers held the first screening of Iron Sky - The Director’s Cut in Berlin. They are in negotiations with distributors over how the release of the new film might be handled.
“It is an interesting discussion because they are already on board. This (Director’s Cut) is a separate entity where I made a separate investment.”
The new cut includes more “space battles, more earth battles, more Udo Kier,” says Vuorensola.
Stealth Media will also be handling sales on the new version, which is set for release later in the year.
