The second entry in Kevin Smith’s True North trilogy marks the return of Depp and his daughter alongside Smith’s daughter, all of whom are confirmed cast members in Smith’s imminent Toronto world premiere Tusk.

XYZ Films will commence talks with international buyers in Toronto on the StarStream Entertainment horror-comedy Yoga Hosers, which WME Global represents for North America. XYZ Films handled international sales on Tusk and A24 will distribute in the US on September 19.

Depp plays “legendary” Montreal man-hunter Guy Lapointe, who teams up with a pair of Manitoban convenience stories workers – Lily-Rose Depp and Harley Quinn Smith – to conquer an ancient evil threat.

Justin Long and the entire cast of Tusk return for duty on Yoga Hosers, which begins principal photography this week and also stars Tony Hale, Natasha Lyonne, Austin Butler, Adam Brody, Tyler Posey and Jason Mewes.

Yoga Hosers will be followed by the final entry in the trilogy, Moose Jaws. Smith recently confided to 8,500 fans at Hall H in Comic-Con that Tusk was the best film he had ever made.

“People always ask me ‘Are you ever going to make a comic book movie?’” said Smith. “This is it – but instead of yet another dude saving the day, our antiheroes are the most feared and formidable creatures man has ever encountered: two fifteen-year-old girls.”

“I’m absolutely in love with the StarStream team and to say I’m tickled to be making a movie with my only begotten kid is an understatement. Also happy to report that this will be the first PG-13 horror movie I’ve made since Jersey Girl.”

StarStream Entertainment is financing and producing the film in association with Invincible Pictures, Abbolita Productions and Smith’s SModcast Pictures.

Kim Leadford and Charles Bonan of StarStream be the executive producers alongside Abbolita Productions’ Tim Nye and XYZ Films, with Liz Destro, Jordan Monsanto and Jennifer Schwalbach on board as producers.
