The award-winning documentary about a Paraguayan youth musical group will go theatrical in September, with VOD, DVD and TV launches to follow.
Award-winning documentary Landfill Harmonic has been set for a multi-platform North American release, starting with a theatrical launch in New York on September 9.
The Film Collaborative and Emerging Pictures will handle theatrical distribution, Tugg Inc educational distribution and Vimeo the VOD launch. FilmRise will release on DVD/BluRay and HBO Latino will give the film its TV premiere.
After launching in New York, the film will open at several Los Angeles venues on September 23 and then expand into between 25 and 45 markets across North America.
The Humanitas Prize-winning documentary, which has also won audience awards at AFI Fest and SXSW, is about the Recycled Orchestra of Cateura, a Paraguayan musical group consisting of kids who live next to one of South America’s largest landfills.
Brad Allgood and Graham Townsley directed and Cinephil is handling foreign sales.
