Lightning Entertainment closes flurry of Cannes deals

John V Soto’s The Reckoning starring Luke Hemsworth, Viva Bianca and Jonathan LaPaglia has gone to Anchor Bay/Starz for North America.

Lightning evp and general manager Ken DuBow announced deals on the crime thriller have closed in the Middle East (Eagle Films), Portugal (Media Page), Scandinavia (Atlantic Film), South Africa (Ster Kinekor), South Korea (Zecon Plus Corp), Thailand (IPA), Turkey (Moviebox), Mexico (Renaissance) and Israel (YES/DBS).

Herschel Faber’s comedy Cavemen starring Chad Michael Murray and Camilla Belle and Alexis Knapp has been licensed to Benelux (Koch Media), China (Melting Culture), South Africa (Ster Kinekor), South Korea (Zecon Plus Corp), Turkey (D Productions), Germany (Lighthouse Home Entertainment) and UK (BSKYB).

Comedy Gods Behaving Badly starring Christopher Walken, Sharon Stone, John Turturro and Edie Falco has gone to China (Melting Culture), Germany (Pandastorm), Portugal (Films4You), South Korea (Joy ‘N Contents), Taiwan (Creative Century), Turkey (Fida Film),  Japan (IPA), former Yugoslavia (VTI) and South East Asia pay TV (NBC).

In other business, Lightning has licensed Denis Henelly’s dramedy Goodbye World starring Adrian Grenier to Australia and New Zealand (Eagle Entertainment), Benelux (One2See Movies), China (DDDreams Media), Japan (AT Entertainment), Middle East (Eagle Films), Thailand (IPA), South Korea (Joy ‘N Contents) and Mexico (Renaissance).

Craig Monahan’s drama Healing with Hugo Weaving and Xavier Samuel has gone to Anchor Bay/Starz for North America, Eagle Films for the Middle East, Ster Kinekor for South Africa and Astro for Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.

Crime thriller We Gotta Get Out Of This Place starring Mackenzie Davis and Ashley Adams has gone to Canada (Anchor Bay/Starz), the UK (Metrodome), the Middle East (Eagle Films), South Africa (Ster Kinekor), Turkey (D Productions), Benelux (One2See Movies) and Russia (Tricolor).
