Details of UK showcase for global film buyers revealed.

Selected film buyers from around the world are to be invited to London from June 22-25 for the 12th London Screenings, Film London’s annual export event.

The invite-only event offers a platform for British filmmakers to get their work seen – and acquired – by the international market. Some 120 buyers from around the world are expected, watching around 50 new British titles over four days in London’s BFI Southbank.

The event is backed by the Mayor of London, Film Export UK and UK Trade & Investment.

The event’s Breakthrough strand, open to emerging filmmakers, is now open for applications. The strand is an opportunity for up-and-coming UK filmmakers to get their features seen by sales companies.

Five out of eight of last year’s Breakthrough titles have gone on to attract sales representation. These include Narcopolis (Altitude), Secret Sharer (Moviehouse) and The Hoarder (Genesis). The deadline for Breakthrough applications is March 25.

Breakthrough applicants must have a feature length film of theatrical quality that is ready for delivery by June 2015. As an event focusing on UK films and film companies, films must be British to be considered, and priority will be given to titles not seen at other festivals/markets.
