Australian series to focus on the changing nature of screen production and distribution in the digital era.

Lord David Puttnam is set to deliver a ten-part seminar series for students of Australia’s Griffith Film School as part of a new venture in worldwide online education.

The model, known as Atticus Education, will focus on the changing nature of screen production and distribution in the digital era, with the first seminar to take place on Aug 27. An audience of 90 students, industry representatives and scholars will attend the talks, which will be delivered using a high definition video conferencing solution, in partnership with BT, with Lord Puttnam able to deliver the live lectures from his home in Ireland.

Lord Puttnam commented: “I’m delighted that the relationship between Griffith Film School and our new venture ‘Atticus’ is coming together so well - I’m extremely pleased with both the form and content of what we’ve agreed upon. As a themed series of live interactive online seminars covering this range of subjects it is unquestionably unique. I’m delighted that Griffith has chosen to be the first university to work with us on this venture.”

The seminars will also be open to the public, with registrations being taken online, and the Atticus Education model is set to be rolled out to other universities throughout Australia, Asia, the UK and US next year.
