Italian distributor acquired seven new titles over course of festival.

Rome-based distributor Lucky Red has acquired a slew of new titles at Cannes this year including Metallica - Through the Never in 3D and Tim Burton’s upcoming Big Eyes.

Other pick-ups included Toei Animation’s fantasy adventure Captain Harlock 3D, supernatural thriller The Quiet Ones, Robert Redford’s A Walk in the Woods, Frank Oz’s Winter’s Discontent and Super Fast, Super Furious.

The company will also distribute Palme d’Or winner Blue is the Warmest Colour as well as Grand Prix winner Inside Llewyn Davis and Nebraska, for which Bruce Dern clinched best actor.

“It’s in our DNA to distribute films by big directors,” said Lucky Red chief Andrea Occhipinti, commenting on the company’s festival titles as well as the acquisition of upcoming pictures such as Big Eyes.
