Focus on Argentina will run through MIPJunior and Mipcom later this year.

Reed MIDEM has announced that Argentina will be the Country of Honour at the 2013 Mipcom, taking place in Cannes from Oct 7-10.

In partnership with the Argentine National Film Board (Instituto Nacional de Cine y Artes Audiovisuales - INCAA), Mipcom will organise a dedicated focus on Argentina’s television, film and digital media industries with the programme including conferences, screening showcases, co-production matchmaking and networking events.

The Focus on Argentina will run through MIPJunior (Oct 5-6) and Mipcom.

Laurine Garaude, director of Reed MIDEM’s television division, commented: “The Argentine National Film Board plays a critical role in supporting the growing contingency of independent Argentine producers attending our markets. This country focus at Mipcom will invite delegates from across the globe to discover the diversity and richness of content produced across Argentina. We are thrilled to name Argentina as our 2013 Country of Honour.”

“The Mipcom focus on Argentina is a unique platform for international buyers, co-producers and distributors to discover the quality, vision and diversity of our content and original stories. The Argentine National Film Board is delighted to partner with Reed MIDEM to present Argentina as the Mipcom 2013 Country of Honour,” added Liliana Mazure, president of INCAA.

Mipcom 2012 attracted more than 144 Argentine delegates from 48 companies.
