Neil Fried has joined the Motion Picture Association Of America as svp of government and regulatory affairs.

Fried will oversee all the MPAA’s efforts in Washington and reports to svp of global policy and external affairs Michael O’Leary.

The new hire arrives from the House committee on energy and commerce and most recently acted as chief counsel for communications and technology.

  • The MPAA’s Classification and Rating Administration (CARA) has overturned the R rating of CBS Film’s Last Vegas and downgraded the comedy to PG-13 for “sexual content and language.”
