Myriad Pictures has come on to sell international rights on the darkly comic Katie Holmes thriller Miss Meadows and is introducing to buyers here.

Karen Leigh Hopkins’ film recently wrapped production in Ohio and centres on an elementary school teacher who moonlights as a vigilante.

Holmes stars alongside James Badge Dale, whose credits include Toronto entry Parkland, Iron Man 3 and Stretch.

Crazy Heart producers Rob Carliner and Eric Brenner are producing. Rob Carliner Productions and Wiretap Films are the production entities and Mark Benton Johnson, Hopkins and Holmes serve as executive producers.

“Much like we had with Jeff Bridges and Crazy Heart, we feel like we have with the right actor in Katie Holmes, in the right role, at the right time in their career,” said Carliner and Brenner.

“Writer-director Karen Leigh Hopkins has created a truly unique and extraordinary character and world with this script,” said Myriad head Kirk D’Amico.

“We are really excited to see her, Katie Holmes, James Badge Dale, and the rest of the cast bring this smart, edgy material to life. We feel that this film will really resonate with audiences around the world.”

Myriad CFO Kevin Forester, vp of sales and distribution Mark Padilla and svp of legal and business affairs David Ducar negotiated the deal.
