Peter Lawson has joined Open Road Films in the newly created position of evp, production and acquisitions. CEO Tom Ortenberg made the announcement on January 6. Separately, Kent Sanderson has joined GoDigital.

Open Road svp of acquisitions Ben Cotner recently left his post. 

Lawson arrives from Thunder Road, where he served as president of production for two years. 

Prior to joining Thunder Road he was evp, acquisitions and co-productions at The Weinstein Company.

  • Kent Sanderson, who most recently played a central role in day-to-day operations at Focus Features’ VOD service Focus World, has joined GoDigital as evp of distribution and merchandising. He will report to GoDigital CEO Logan Mulvey.
