The filmmaker is set to direct his first feature since 2006 drama Little Children when he adapts the novel of the same name by Boston Teran. Universal will distribute in the US through its deal with Cross Creek.

Cross Creek founder Brian Oliver will produce along with Field and Michael DeLuca and production is earmarked for an early 2013 star in the American Southwest and parts of Mexico. 

The Creed Of Violence is set against the 1910 Mexican Revolution as an assassin and a law enforcement officer team up to infiltrate the Mexican criminal underworld.
