Alcon Entertainment has secured rights to Kami Carcia and Margaret Stohl’s bestselling trilogy to star Oscar nominee Viola Davis. Richard LaGravenese will direct from his adaptation.

Summit International will commence pre-sales at the EFM in Berlin next week on the coming-of-age story set in the South as star-crossed teenage lovers uncover dark secrets about their town. Davis will play a seer who looks after the young male protagonist.

Warner Bros will distribute Beautiful Creatures domestically. Alcon co-founders and co-CEOs Broderick Johnson and Andrew Kosove plan a trilogy and will produce alongside Erwin Stoff and Molly Smith.

The second and third books are Beautiful Darkness and Beautiful Chaos.
