Co-written by Oscar-nominee Peter McDonald and John Butler, the film is set to commence shooting on Monday (Nov 12).

Andrew Scott [pictured], best known for playing Moriarty on BBC’s Sherlock, has joined the cast of Irish comedy The Stag, which is set to start shooting in Dublin on Monday (Nov 12) for four weeks.

Co-written by Oscar-nominee Peter McDonald and John Butler (who will also direct), the film is produced by Robert Walpole and Rebecca O’Flanagan for Treasure Entertainment. Scott will star alongside the likes of Hugh O’Conor, Andrew Bennett, Michael Legge, Brian Gleeson, Peter McDonald and Amy Huberman in the comedy about a group of male friends who embark on an Irish stag party.

John O’Connor will edit the film with post production taking place at Windmill Lane. The film is being supported by the Irish Film Board.
