The parties have acquired feature film rights to Maria Semple’s acclaimed bestseller Where’d You Go, Bernadette and have set Scott Neustadter and Michael H Weber of (500) Days Of Summer fame to adapt the screenplay.

Color Force’s Nina Jacobson made the announcement on Tuesday [8]. Semple will serve as executive producer along with Color Force’s Bryan Unkeless and Annapurna Pictures’ Ted Schipper.

Jacobson and partner Brad Simpson will produce alongside Annapurna Pictures’ Megan Ellison.

Where’d You Go, Bernadette uses letters, emails, texts and other documents to piece together the story of the unhinged wife of a Microsoft guru who goes missing.

UTA and Anna Stein of Aitken Alexander negotiated film rights on behalf of Semple and CAA negotiated for Neustadter and Weber, who are also represented by Kaplan/Perrone Entertainment and attorney Sean Marks of Myman Greenspan.
