Annapurna Pictures and VICE unite for their first joint production that Ana Lily Amirpour will direct as her follow-up to Sundance 2014’s A Girl Walks Home Alone At Night.

The Bad Batch is described as “a dystopian love story set in a Texas wasteland.” Plot details remain under obligatory wraps.

Annapurna’s Megan Ellison will produce with VICE’s Danny Gabai and Sina Sayyah. Annapurna’s Sammy Scher will serve as the executive overseeing day-to-day development and production while VICE’s Shane Smith and Eddy Moretti are executive producers.

VICE will leverage its global youth audience and in-house film marketing team in the US and select international territories.

The companies partnered last year when VICE supported online video and editorial marketing on Spring Breakers, The Grandmaster and Her.
